Guitar Improvisation

This program teaches you step by step how to master the fretboard so that you can improvise guitar solos over any song. When you learn this unique method of fretboard visualization, you will gain a deeper understanding of music and how to create melodies and chords on the guitar. The curriculum starts as a general rock guitar course, but it can naturally branch into blues or jazz guitar depending on the student’s interests.

Fingerpicking Guitar

In this program you will hone your fingerpicking guitar skills through a series of progressive exercises. As you master various techniques and fingerpicking patterns, you will apply that knowledge by learning to play classic fingerpicking pieces from artists such as Bob Dylan, Fleetwood Mac, Doc Watson, and modern folk artists. We will also cover fingerpicking arrangements of popular music.

Bluegrass Guitar

In this program, you will learn the fundamentals of flatpicking bluegrass guitar. You will develop your picking and strumming technique so that you can play comfortably in bluegrass jams or old time circles. You will also learn plenty of licks and runs so that you can improvise your own guitar solos. We will also learn pieces from bluegrass greats such as Tony Rice, David Grier, and modern players like Billy Strings.
